The Touching Story of Jaime
Today we bring you the touching story of Jaime:
Jaime had a pretty great life for the most part. “When you are able to count the blessings in front of you every morning, I’d say you have it pretty well”. There was just one key piece missing to complete the “perfect” life Jaime dreamed of - a job. Not just any job though, a place of work that valued their employees and a job that would help Jaime provide for their family back home. The stress of not being able to provide a steady income or place of refuge for the family weighed on Jaime significantly.
“Being valued as an employee is a major part of an employee's success, inside and outside of the workplace. If we don’t feel like we matter, we won’t work as it matters and we will take that home with us every day”. Jaime got to a point where action needed to happen to keep the family afloat and made a tough decision to move to a new state, Washington. Jaime knew it was time to find more than a job, like a career, and marched into the door of GLISS. Despite being a staffing agency that often gets marked as “Temporary Staffing”, the opposite of the targeted work, Jaime jumped in feet first into a career. That was just the beginning of the positive changes seen in Jaime’s life.
Once a standard work schedule was established and money started to become consistent Jaime got to see a plentiful life unfold. Jaime was able to secure a great home for the family, a way to support everything that comes with that, and best yet “I get to look myself in the mirror and smile back at the person I see because I did this on my own” Jaime told us.
We asked what advice Jaime would have to anyone who is going through a situation similar to this and Jaime replied: “Be patient, not everything needs to be rushed through”.
We agree with that. Like the age-old saying “good things come to those who wait”, Jaime has shown us that on top of that, good things come to those who work hard and diligently. We are so glad that you didn’t give up on yourself, Jaime!
